New US report shows next gen donors want to act with impact

A heads-up from the US to non-profits comes in the form of a new report on the next generation of philanthropists that highlights a focus on impact, values-based giving and high engagement.

The #Next Gen Donors report from the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and 21/64 gives the first real glimpse into the minds of the philanthropic millenials: wealthy individuals, or individuals who will inherit wealth, born between 1964-2000.

icaewvolunteers.com launched  last year as a direct response to the challenges that charities face in finding volunteers with business and finance skills is a collaboration between The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and Chartered Accountants’ Benevolent Association (CABA).

UK Philanthropy back to buoyancy cites Coutts Million Pound Donors' Report

UK philanthropy is buoyant with the highest level of £1m+ donations in the UK rising 9% from 2010/11 to £1.35bn in 2012, according to the 6th annual Coutts Million Pound Donors’ Report (MPDR) 2013.

This is the highest level of £1m+ donations since the financial crisis in 2009.

The report, in association with the University of Kent, also found that higher education remains the top beneficiary for Million Pound Donors (MPD) in the UK to which  42% (£570m) of donations were given.

City network for young philanthropists booming

Philanthropy research centre to open...but will they find the 'Samaritan Particle'?

A new research centre aims to unlock the secrets of why philanthropists give…and discover how that knowledge could help more people become donors.  

The Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy (CSP) opens at Plymouth University in early February, and its first social and psychological studies will include studying the challenges faced by new philanthropist as well as donor behaviour.
