Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley help raise £7.5m for charity
Leading City trading firm ICAP raised £7.5m for 200 charities at their 23rd annual global charity day. The star-studded event saw celebrities and royalty, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, take to the phones to complete trading deals across the globe with 100% of ICAP's revenues and broker's commissions from the day going directly to charities.
The £7.5m raised on the day is equivalent to approximately 3% of ICAP's full year pre-tax trading profits. This brings the total amount raised, since the charity day was established in 1993, to nearly £127m.
Michael Spencer, Group Chief Executive Officer of ICAP, said: “Support for charitable causes has always been of central importance to ICAP, providing essential funding to allow charities to flourish. However, none of this would have been possible without the dedication and goodwill of our employees, customers, suppliers and our distinguished guests who come together each year to help those people most in need. On behalf of ICAP and our charities, I would like to say thank you.”
