The Childhood Trust is providing a way for people to double their festive donations to more than 30 London children’s charities with the launch of its Christmas Give campaign.
The campaign, which is in its 7th year, is run in conjunction with The Big Give, a non-profit charity website which allows donors to find and support charity projects. On Friday 4th and Saturday 5th December all donations to the children’s charities made through The Big Give website will be match funded by The Childhood Trust.
In December 2014 more than £1.4 million pounds was raised for 29 different local children’s causes during a similar fundraising campaign. The Childhood Trust has set aside an additional match funding budget in order to increase the donations and top last year’s total.
Lisa Gagliani, CEO of Childhood Trust, says: “Christmas is an especially important time for children’s charities, especially smaller local causes like the ones we are supporting with this campaign. Many people feel particularly generous around this time of year so we want to make sure that any donation they make to a local London children’s charity is doubled.
“Most of the charities we support during the campaign are small and know best how to help their communities. Christmas is a tough time for families affected by poverty and need more funds to reach and help more children in need. The great thing about the Christmas Give is that the public can choose which projects resonate most with them while having their donations doubled.”
