We define philanthropy as the giving of resources in an engaged and strategic way for maximum impact and in a tax efficient manner. It can include the giving of money, assets, time, talent, voice and one’s social capital. We believe in the power of philanthropy as a great social connector and the source of many great opportunities.

CAF World Giving Index 2015

The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) World Giving Index, now in its sixth year, is a leading authority on global generosity. By measuring three different kinds of giving, it provides a simple and universally understood picture of charitable behaviour across the world.

The CAF World Giving Index is scored by averaging the percentage of people in each country who donated money, volunteered or helped a stranger in the previous month. For this year’s report 145 countries were surveyed, representing around 96% of the world’s population.

United Kingdom the most generous nation in Europe, CAF study reveals

The 2015 World Giving Index, published by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), has found that the United Kingdom is the most generous nation in Europe and sixth most generous in the world, with Myanmar taking the top spot in the world.

The United Kingdom moved up one place in the list compared to 2014’s report but remains behind Myanmar, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Sir John Cass's Foundation and Cass Business School create £1m School Engagement Programme

Cass Business School has been awarded a £500,000 grant from Sir John Cass’s Foundation to establish a new five year programme, connecting Cass Business School to local state secondary schools through a combination of individual mentoring and group coaching delivered by undergraduates to pupils aged 14-18. One of the schools included will be the Foundation’s own secondary school.

Nearly half of Londoners plan to donate to charity on #GivingTuesday

Londoners are more likely to engage with this year’s Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving which takes place on December 1st, according to a new survey from the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). The survey found one in three (35%) Britons said they are likely to make a donation as part of Giving Tuesday but this rose to 45% among Londoners.

The survey also found that more than one third (36%) of Londoners are likely to promote Giving Tuesday across social media, compared to a fifth of Briton’s overall.
