We define philanthropy as the giving of resources in an engaged and strategic way for maximum impact and in a tax efficient manner. It can include the giving of money, assets, time, talent, voice and one’s social capital. We believe in the power of philanthropy as a great social connector and the source of many great opportunities.

Funding Network: Festive Funding Event

6:00 pm

The Funding Network are rounding off 2015 in style with a members-only festive fundraiser with four charities, mince pies, mulled wine and entertainment from the London Youth Choir.

Attendees will hear brief pitches from four hand-picked charities who are looking for financial support and then be given the opportunity to pledge money in a live-crowdfunding round.

The four charities being supported on the night are:

  • British Shalom-Shalaam Trust works with Israeli Jewish women to provide Palestinian children and their mothers with otherwise unachievable day trips to Israel's Mediterranean coast
  • The Horse Course uses horse-based interventions with those who face severe social exclusion to improve key relationships and reduce problem behaviour
  • Friends of the children of Orissa aims to rescue lost and runaway children from Puri railway station in Eastern India and reunite them with their family or settle them in alternative homes
  • Forty Hall Community Vineyard uses a community vineyard project in North London to support people with mental health problems and build a happier and healthier community.

Members can RSVP now to book their seat. Not a member? Treat yourself this festive season and join the TFN Team and our Trustees to celebrate what is always a very special event. Membership starts at just £50 and includes a free ticket to the event (usually £30) so join now to ensure your place!
