We define philanthropy as the giving of resources in an engaged and strategic way for maximum impact and in a tax efficient manner. It can include the giving of money, assets, time, talent, voice and one’s social capital. We believe in the power of philanthropy as a great social connector and the source of many great opportunities.

Carols by Candlelight - The Silver Line

6:30 pm

A wonderful evening to start the festive season in London’s oldest surviving church. There will be music and carols from the Wall of Sound Choir, and a host of seasonal readings from:

  • Dame Esther Rantzen
  • Nicholas Parsons
  • Miriam Margolyes
  • Susanna Reid

Proceedings will be led by The Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Chaplain to the Queen and the Speaker of the House of Commons.

All proceeds will go to The Silver Line, the UK’s only free, confidential 24-hour helpline for lonely and isolated older people offering information, friendship and advice every day and night of the year.  More than a million older people have called in less than 3 years, the majority overnight and during weekends, some simply to say “Goodnight” to someone.

More than half a million older people will spend Christmas alone this year, please help us to break their silence.
