We define philanthropy as the giving of resources in an engaged and strategic way for maximum impact and in a tax efficient manner. It can include the giving of money, assets, time, talent, voice and one’s social capital. We believe in the power of philanthropy as a great social connector and the source of many great opportunities.

Laughter Over Literature, with comedian Ava Vidal, in aid of ETC

7:00 pm

Educating The Children (ETC) charity has partnered with private  members' club Library and comedian Ava Vidal, to bring a night of laughter to London. Featuring a host of comedians including Imran Yusuf, Laughter Over Literature! (LOL!) aims to raise £35,000  to build a library for the first secondary school in the Masai Mara, Kenya. The school is the latest project from Educating The Children (ETC), the UK based charity set up by City professional Sonal Kadchha (pictured) following a volunteering trip to the region with Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Atlantic in 2008. Since then ETC has raised over £150,000 to build the first girls' secondary school in the Masai Mara, Kenya. It will provide a bright future for at least 1,000 Masai girls. This recently finished school includes classrooms, dormitories, washrooms and teachers accommodation, all of which are vital to provide a safe haven for girls exposed to FGM, rape and childhood marriages. See www.ETCeducation.org for further information.

100% of the profits from the event will go to the Library project.

The evening will kick off with a champagne reception at 7pm followed by the show from 8pm to 10pm.
Guests are welcome to stay on after the show to enjoy the newest private members club acting as a hub for eclectic literary community.

Tickets cost £25 but early birds pay only £20.
