We define philanthropy as the giving of resources in an engaged and strategic way for maximum impact and in a tax efficient manner. It can include the giving of money, assets, time, talent, voice and one’s social capital. We believe in the power of philanthropy as a great social connector and the source of many great opportunities.

City Philanthropy

A Wealth of Opportunity

Nick Owen

UK Chairman, Deloitte

"At Deloitte, our purpose is to make an impact that matters: for our clients, our people and our society. We have committed to embedding a cohesive and sustainable responsible business approach across our organisation to deliver impact in all areas of our business and critically in our communities. We achieve this through our priorities; working with Teach First through our Deloitte Access scheme, placing social mobility at the core of our talent strategy, supporting our national charity partners and social pioneers in London and across the UK, and leading on a number of other key partnerships.

Senior business leaders across the City have a responsibility to proactively engage on the key debates and social issues across the City; encouraging charitable and philanthropic involvement, and raising awareness on important social, environmental and cultural issues across our communities are important parts of this engagement. I have been inspired by the impact we can have when we work together and advocate on the issues that matter to us – raising aspirations and improving the skills of our leaders of tomorrow."
